The PSOR Lab is excited to welcome our newest graduate students, Nia Samuels (MS Student) and Dimitri Alston (PhD Student). Welcome to the lab!
Congratulations to Matt Wilhelm and Chenyu Wang for their recently published article in the Journal of Global Optimization! This paper develops and analyzes convex and concave envelopes of artificial neural network activation functions for deterministic global optimization applications. Check it out: https://doi.org/10.1007/s10898-022-01228-x
Congratulations to Chenyu Wang and Sam Morgenstern on their recently published paper in AIChE Journal. This paper develops a framework for optimizing the therapy for cancer patients with solid tumors. https://doi.org/10.1002/aic.17747
Congratulations to Dr. Chenyu Wang for successfully defending his PhD dissertation!
Congratulations to Chenyu Wang and Matt Wilhelm on their recently published paper in Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research. This paper formalizes a special class of robust optimization problems for systems modeled using machine learning models and first-principles models. https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.iecr.2c00113
The PSOR Lab is happy to welcome PhD student Pengfei Xu as our newest member!
Congratulations to PhD candidate Chenyu Wang for his recently accepted publication in Chemical Engineering Journal. This paper details the use of optimal control techniques based on non-ideal reactor models and low-cost sensors. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cej.2021.132819
The PSOR Lab will be participating in the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS) 2021 Annual Meeting in Anaheim, CA. Matt Wilhelm will be presenting virtually “Reduced-Space Optimization of Data-Driven Hybrid Models” in session VSD63 “Julia Packages for the Modeling and Solution of Optimization Problems” on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2021 at 5:45-7:15PM ET. Dr. Stuber will be presenting virtually “Recent Advances in EAGO.jl: A Feature-Rich Global Solver and Research Platform” in session VMB41 “Global Optimization of MINLPs and its Applications” at 10:45AM-12:15PM ET.
JuliaCon 2021 is virtual and occurs July 28-30. Matt Wilhelm will be discussing global dynamic optimization in Julia as part of the mini-symposium on Set Propagation Methods in Julia.
Registration is free!
Congratulations to former undergraduate (and interim graduate) researcher Shay Cetegen for her recently accepted publication in Computers & Chemical Engineering. This paper discusses the robust design of emerging technologies for sustainable food production. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.compchemeng.2021.107285
