New Publication in I&EC Research

Congratulations to Dimitri Alston, Joseph Choi, and Pengfei Xu on their publication in the ACS journal Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Research. This work details a nice software package that automatically converts equation-oriented process models (developed in ModelingToolkit) into mathematical programming constraints for process optimization. This enables a seamless integration between modeling and simulation in Julia. The paper can be found here: https://doi.org/10.1021/acs.iecr.6c00186

New publication in RSC Reaction Chemistry & Engineering

Congratulations to Robert Gottlieb on his recent publication in the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Reaction Chemistry & Engineering journal. This is collaborative work with Prof. Valla’s lab on the study of possible reaction pathways for hydrodeoxygenation of bio-oil compounds using different catalysts and solvents. Our contribution used mathematical optimization and complete reaction pathway models together with experimental data to identify the most likely reaction pathways. The paper can be found here: https://doi.org/10.1039/D5RE00179J

New publication in the Journal of Controlled Release!

Congratulations to PSOR Lab alumni, Chenyu Wang, for the recent publication in the Journal of Controlled Release. This work details a significant shift in the understanding of the transport of macromolecules into bone marrow. Together with experimental collaborators, our mathematical models were leveraged to determine that bone marrow vessels are much more permeable than previously thought.
